How Pixum looks after your privacy

Pixum provides a safe and secure environment for you to save, share and print your photos.

Each of your albums and all of your uploaded photos are protected by your username and password. Other members are not able to look at your non-public albums or pictures without your permission. You should always choose a username and password with careful consideration. Combinations should not be too short or too obvious as this could make your details more susceptible to being stolen by others.

If you have cookies activated in your browser you have the option of letting Pixum remember your details each time your visit. Please be aware this means that everyone using your personal computer will potentially have access to your albums and pictures. If you are using a public computer (internet cafe, business, etc.) you should deactivate the "Save password" option.

You have the option to make your albums available to the "public". With your albums set in this way everyone is able to look at your albums and the pictures within them.

If you want to grant access to your albums and photos only to certain people (family or friends) then you can use the 'Invitation' option and send a personal invitation for a certain album via e-mail. The recipient of this e-mail only has to click on the link in the e-mail in order to see the album and pictures. They do not need an additional password.

You are able to withdraw invitations at any time. You can find this option under "Your shared albums". After you have withdrawn the invitation this person can no longer see the pictures in your private albums.

Friends you invite to see your non-public albums must register with Pixum. This is neccesary for your own security; this way you can track who can view your pictures.

To create albums and upload photos you must be registered with Pixum. You must submit your first and last names as well as a valid e-mail address. You will also need to create a unique username and password. Shortly after registering you will receive a secure confirmation e-mail. By following the URL in this mail you will have completed your registration.

This data and your individual cookie (if set) are required for using Pixum and will be stored by our system.

During your registration you can also enter additional information. This information is purely optional and is not necessary for the registration. If you do choose to submit this information we will treat it with the same care as any required data you have submitted.

After registering you will be identified automatically by our computer system if you have cookies activated. If not, you will need to log in, using your username and password. The system will create an individual session-ID which will prevent you from signing in again as long as you stay online. If you leave, this session will be removed.

You may change your profile as often as you want; only your username must stay the same as when you first registered.

We will only use your personal data for internal matters such as processing your order, newsletters and registration information and to improve our services. We will not share your personal data with third parties and it is kept secure at all times. This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Our partner will treat your data with the same care and privacy as we do. The reproduction of your personal data, for reasons other than for Pixum business, is contractually prohibited.

You may change or view your individual data stored on our servers anytime you like. If you wish to completely remove all your data from Pixum we need to verify your identification. With this done all your albums, pictures and personal data will be deleted from our system.

We regularly check the pictures being uploaded to Pixum in order to prevent any prohibited or unethical content (such as violent or pornographic images, which are forbidden by German law) from being uploaded. Photos which offend or which are against legal regulations will be removed and the owner of the photo will be informed about the violation of our terms and conditions.

If a certain member violates our conditions of use several times we have the right to lock his/her access to Pixum, to remove all his/her picture data and to submit his/her data for prosecution.

Pixum realises that there can be a thin line between what is art and what is inapropriate. Since we cannot exclude children and young people from using Pixum, we will place any suspect or dubious pictures within a closed area. In the event that we are unsure of how to clasify an image, we will directly contact the user who uploaded it.

In the future Pixum may need to change the way your personal data is treated. Should this be the case you will be informed via e-mail. Depending on the kind of changes, an additional agreement from your side may be necessary for you to continue using Pixum‘s services in the future.

If you have any questions or suggestions concerning the treatment of personal data, contact us at info(at)pixum.com.
