Pixum - always beautiful pictures

Your picture in its perfect place

Your photo canvas is printed on 340 g/m² of strong linen, which is then stretched onto a solid frame, made of real wood. Pixum takes into account the size of your image: If one of the edges is at least 80 cm long, we reinforce the 2 cm thick frame up to 4 cm.

Linen, as a fabric, has a relatively coarse structure. The print of your picture onto the fabric creates a harmonious surface effect, which makes your canvas print look like a painting. For particularly bright and brilliant colours, twelve colors are used when printing. The linen is stretched across the wooden frame and is stapled and fastened at the back with brackets to hold it in place. To keep your canvas perfectly stretched, you will receive eight wedges, which you can insert into the wooden frame to alter the tension of the linen. To find out how this works in detail, please consult the manual. With the included picture hanging kit, you can hang your Pixum Canvas print quick and easy.

Design options for your Pixum Canvas Print

Pixum offers you several different ways to create your unique Pixum Canvas Print. You can directly upload your image to the Pixum website and can have it converted into a stunning photo canvas. However, you do not have any other design options when using this online editor. The Pixum Photo Book app works in the same way.

However, if you?d like to get more out of your canvas print and maybe add some lettering, create a collage from numerous photographs or liven up the whole thing with some clipart, then the Pixum Photo World Software, our downloadable software for your PC, Mac or Linux offers you plenty of creative possibilities.

Bear in mind: the ideal resolution

A key aspect when creating bright, sharp prints is to select photos with the optimal resolution. This will vary depending on the size of your canvas print Whilst you need photos with a resolution of at least 13.2 megapixels, i.e. an image size of at least 3,100×4,480 pixels, for a 100×150 cm screen size, a smaller format will have a significantly lower resolution. For a 50x50 cm photo canvas, you can opt for photos consisting of 3.7 megapixels and an image size of 1,960x1,960 pixels to get very good results.

Pixum tip

Top tips from Pixum
Are you unsure as to whether your photo has the right resolution? Then let Pixum help you! In the online editor and in the software, select a photo with a resolution that is too low and the respective technical base will reveal a yellow warning line. Online you can see this in the selection of the formats, in the software it appears directly on the photo. If this error occurs, you can fix the problem by using a higher-resolution image or by resizing the size of the canvas (for example, 40×60 cm instead of 60×80 cm).
